Our Bar Rolling Methods and Uses

Baker Steel Company, Inc. utilizes a number of different sizes of Roundo and Buffalo bar rolls in order to roll various shapes. These shapes include, but are not limited to, square, flat, round, half round, hexagonal, and reinforcing bars. Our Beam Rolling Methods and Uses

Baker Steel Company, Inc. utilizes a number of different sizes of Roundo and Buffalo beam rolls in order to roll W, I, and S beam shapes. W and I beams are primarily used for structural support applications. S beams are most frequently used for trolleys or monorails.

Baker Steel’s channel rolling can be performed on a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. 

Our Channel Rolling Sizes

Baker Steel Company, Inc. can roll channels up to 15″ leg in or leg out. We can roll up to 6″ channels the hard way and heavier channels can be cambered to a larger radii legs in, legs out, or the hard way. Our team can also shear and bend odd size channels from plate and then roll them after bending. This is extremely helpful when a certain grade of material is specified for the channel, but not readily available.

Our Plate Rolling Methods and Uses

Baker Steel Company, Inc. utilizes a number of different sizes of Bertsch Plate Rolls. Our overhead cranes allow us to roll large diameters for tanks, while our heavy duty plate rolls allow us to roll down to pipe size diameters. Our plate rolls are single and double initial pinch styles which help to produce rounder steams. We can also incorporate our press brakes into the process and kink the plate prior to rolling. This helps to minimize the flats at the seam.
Baker Steel’s plate rolling can be performed on a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.

Our Plate Rolling Sizes

Our team has plate rolls varying from 1/4″ to 1-3/32″ thick plates up to 10′ long. Thicker plates can be rolled in shorter lengths depending on the grade of material and diameters

We can roll tubes the easy way and hard way as well as ramp tubes for applications such as stair stringers. Our team looks at each tube to ensure that it is structurally sound enough to withstand rolling. We often recommend to pack the tube to offer extra support to help minimize collapsing.
